IARU Region 1 Conference 2026
The 27th IARU Region 1 conference took place 19–23 September in Vienna, with delegates from 38 member societies. A new executive committee was elected for three years, with PB2T as chairman. Two Icelandic delegates attended.

The Grimeton VLF transmitter SAQ returns to the air on 24 October for UN Day, on 17.2 kHz, with a peace message at 13:00 UTC. Tests are planned 23 October, and club station SK6SAQ operates on several HF frequencies.

Germany's Bundesrat has approved the fifth amendment to the frequency ordinance, a step toward restoring amateur access to the 4 m band. Publication, frequency plan updates and a BNetzA allocation must follow, so use from 1 January 2027 is not assured.
